Berwick Baptist Weekly | Mar 2-8

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Free Community Skate

We are excited to host a free community skate next week, Monday March 10th from 12:30-2:00 PM. We hope this will be a time we can gather as a community for some exercise and time together. Also, that this will be a place where we can host the community with hospitality. This is open to all ages! We hope to see you there.

Prayer Q&R Sermon Series

Coming up this Sunday we are launching into a new sermon series called Prayer Q&R (Question and Response)

The sermon slot for this series that will take us through the season of Lent will look a bit different than normal. We want to try and foster discussion around this idea of prayer. So, we will begin the sermon time with posing one question about prayer each week and then inviting you (totally optional) to discuss with someone around you the question. Then whoever is preaching that week will offer their best response to the question before sending you to discuss again the question after hearing our response.

We are really hoping this will lead to engaging and fruitful discussion and learning from one another on the practice of prayer.

Consider inviting a friend who is curious about prayer to join you this week to engage in the discussion!

Kids Ministry Volunteers

If you have been part of our weekly worship gatherings lately you may notice that there is a growing number of kids with us each week! We are praising God for this and for the energy and liveliness they bring to our church.

With a growing kids ministry we are looking for people to serve as volunteers in Sunday morning kids ministry. In time, we hope to have a space for toddlers, elementary aged kids and middle school teens each week.

If you are interested in investing in young people in this way please let us know!

What We Are Celebrating

Sending Help

Back in October, Evan shared a message calling us to pray the words found in Matthew 9:38 “Send Help.” We have been praying this in every sense that help could be sent. We want to celebrate that God has been answering this prayer in many different ways. It is so exciting to see glimpses of what God is up to.

Hunger for Community

To end our time together on Sunday mornings we have some time to be with one another over a hot beverage and a treat. It has been so encouraging to see folks engaging meaningfully in this space. The time seems to be stretching out longer and longer which is an amazing sign that we are engaging in deep relationship. This is a fantastic way of living out the reality of loving one another.

One Prayer This Week

Proposal to Efficiency Nova Scotia

The renovation committee is finalizing a proposal that they have worked diligently on for some time to be sent to Efficiency Nova Scotia.

  • Pray this week that this proposal would be received well and that God would lead us through this process.

  • Pray that his will would be done with this application.

  • Pray that as we continue to discern together next steps with the building that Holy Spirit would be speaking to us individually and collectively and that we will follow His leading.

Talk soon,

Pastor Caleb

Berwick Baptist Church

P.S. As we begin a new series on prayer this would be a great opportunity to invite a friend who is curious about prayer.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
