Christmas Letter 2025

May you have a blessed Christmas season.

Dear Church Family,

The Christmas Narrative is one that is saturated with changing plans, unknown directions, and fear-invoking circumstances. From surprise pregnancies to forced relocations, God’s hand is found in it all, reliably and gently guiding His people through trials, tribulations, and triumphs.

Our God who does not slumber but rather takes on the very nature of those who have been found to be unfaithful, all in order to restore their relationship with their Heavenly Father, is a God more gracious and more merciful than even the best authors and poets could dream up. This God, this Prince of Peace, this Holy one of Israel, this Wonderful Councilor has come into the world, not to condemn us, but to be our Savior.

This Christmas Season, we as a church family have much to celebrate. Though we have all worked hard this past year, it is undeniable that the Lord’s Hand has been upon us —moving not just within the walls of our sanctuary and the like, but within the community that surrounds us. We have all reason and confidence to know that our prayers have indeed been heard, and I dare say with a very sympathetic and thoughtful ear.

People of Berwick Baptist Church— hope has been given; peace has been gifted; joy has been planted; and love remains the centerfold of that which the Lord has declared to be ours. As we come from the fields and from the east to lay our eyes upon Jesus, the God-Man who left His Glory above to walk among us, may we receive these gifts.

This Christmas season, there are two invitations we would ask you to take before God in prayer. These are two ways the Lord may invite us to join in His redemptive work in the world during this Christmas season when we remember His coming to us.

  1. An Invitation to Christmas Eve

  2. A Special Christmas Offering

An Invitation To Christmas Eve

Available at the church are invitations to our Christmas Eve service. One of these invitations is for you. We would love for you to join us here at Berwick Baptist Church as we gather to celebrate the birth of Jesus together on Christmas Eve.

The second invitation is for you to share with someone else; invite a friend, neighbour, coworker or a family member to come with you to experience the hope of Jesus this Christmas. This is the part we invite you to bring prayerfully before the Lord.

Would you ask God:

Lord, who might you have me invite to church this Christmas Eve?

A Special Christmas Offering

At this time of year, many people take time to consider thoughtful year-end giving, and we humbly invite you to pray about a special Christmas offering to Berwick Baptist Church.

If you’ve been following along in our bulletins, you’ve likely noticed that our tithes and offerings have increased significantly this year. Praise God! As of November 1, total giving for the year had already surpassed our projected annual amount. It has been a long time since this has been true at our church, and we see this as one way God is providing for us as we seek to follow His leading together.

As we look ahead, consider a Christmas offering that positions our church with resources to invest faithfully in God’s Kingdom and the mission of the church heading into 2026.

Would you ask God:

Lord, would you have me give a special, above-and-beyond Christmas offering to further Your Kingdom work through Berwick Baptist Church?

Thank you for your continued prayers, faithfulness, and investment in the work of God through Berwick Baptist Church! Above all, we ask that you take these invitations to the Lord and respond as He leads. If God brings someone to mind to invite, we encourage you to step forward in obedience. And if he does not, we trust Him and respond in obedience as well.

It is our prayer that you will have a blessed Christmas season and that Emmanuel, God with us, would be tangibly present with you in deepening ways.

God bless,

Pastors Evan, Andrew & Caleb
