Berwick Baptist Weekly | Sept. 28 – Oct. 4

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Fall Vision – We Are Getting Ready!

A few weeks back, we launched our Fall 2025 Vision as we seek to Get Ready for what God has in store for Berwick Baptist. Our two big initiatives, among others, is every home prayed for and everyone around a table. At this time, we want to encourage you to lean into every home prayed for. It was encouraging to see people dabbing the poster to indicate the houses they have prayed for! There were 24 more homes prayed for this week. This makes 50 total! Let’s keep up the good work together!

Please don’t forget to track the houses you have prayed for. The first button below is how you track what homes you prayed for. The second button is a prayer map of Berwick that tells you what home have already been prayed for.

Alpha – 19 Oct. 2025

We are excited to launch our first round of Alpha! Alpha was created several years ago by Nicky Gumbel and continues to be used by God as a discipleship and evangelism tool all over the world! We are planning on making regular use of Alpha as both a discipleship tool and an outreach tool. Our first Alpha will start on 19 Oct. 2025 at 5pm in our church Annex. We will have a meal together and then we will watch a video and discuss. Topics will include Who is Jesus?, Why Did Jesus Die?, and Why and How Do I Pray? This is an 11 session course, so it is a commitment, but one we believe is worth it. The plan will be do 8 sessions before Christmas and the remaining four after the break. Please register as the first button below. The second button will take you to the Alpha Promo video. Come as you are and bring your honest questions to the table!

Preservice Prayer

One of the priorities we identified when we entered into this new phase in the life of Berwick Baptist Church, was a Foundation of Prayer. We have done a few prayer events and initiative so far, and we want to add a prayer event to the regular life of our church: Sunday morning Preservice Prayer. Each Sunday at 10am, we will gather in the parlour to pray together. We will ask God to work in power during our service. This will be an “engage as you are comfortable” space. We will usually pray through a portion of scripture and then pray for our Sunday morning service. All are welcome to attend! Please join us as we go before the throne of grace—together!

What We Are Celebrating

Welcoming New Members!

At our Sunday morning worship service, we were delighted to welcome 9 new members into full membership of the Berwick Baptist Church! As I (Evan) prayed, we ask that God would inspire them to use all of their gifts, talents, and abilities for the building up of this church and the Kingdom of Heaven more generally. And that we would be a church that cares for one another through all the ups and downs of life. May it be so with us and may this show forth a compelling community in our neighbourhood!

Burlington Baptist Country Gospel Concert

We are also celebrating the recent Country and Gospel concert that took place at the Burlington Baptist Church on 21 Sept. 2025. More than $600 was raised for those impacted by the wild fire in West Dalhousie.

One Prayer This Week

We were very pleased to be able to introduce Joshua Daniel at our service this past Sunday. He is our mentored ministry student. Please pray for Joshua as he starts this journey with us. Pray that God would use him in a mighty way in our church and in our community, and that God would this church in his formation—all to the glory of God!

Talk soon,

Evan
