Berwick Baptist Weekly | Sept 21–27

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Every Home Prayed For

As a church, we are getting ready! God is at work, and we are excited to see all that he has in store for us! One of our fall initiatives is to pray for every home in Berwick. We are thrilled that 26 homes have been prayed for already. We were delighted to here stories about how God is using this initiative already!

We want to encourage you to grab some door knockers and take part—let’s make this a real team effort as we seek to bless our community in this way. We encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and see what God can do!

The steps are simple: pray for a home, hang a door knocker, and then track it (either on the form in the church foyer or online at the first link below). The second link is a map that shows you all the homes that have been prayed for already.

Ladies Group

The Berwick Baptist Ladies Group meets weekly on Monday nights at 6:30pm. They are currently meeting at Jocelyn Rhodenizer’s house (206 Commercial Street, Berwick, #201). This group meets to enjoy one another’s company, to pray together, and to study the Bible together. They are currently studying and discussing the parables of Jesus in line with the sermon series. All ladies are welcome to join! If you have any questions, please reach out to Rhonda Connell ([email protected]) or Rosemary Jotcham ([email protected]).

Mentored Ministry Student – Financial Need

At our business meeting this past Sunday, we announced the exciting opportunity we have to bring on a Mentored Ministry Student from Acadia Divinity College. This church has a long history of employing students and training them up for ministry, and we have the opportunity to do it again. The students name is Joshua Daniel. He is from India, he is a husband and a father, and he comes we several years of ministry experience in churches. The Pastors and Deacons are moving forward with hiring Joshua; however, we still need your help financially. The total amount we are seeking is $2500. If you would like to help with this, either in whole or in part, please contact one of the Pastors or Deacons.

Choir

Our church choir is starting back up again. Their usual rhythm is to lead in a song around once a month during our Sunday morning worship services. Their first practice is coming up this Wednesday evening, Sept. 24th, at the church at 7pm. If you are interested in singing with the choir, please reach out to Paul Grimm ([email protected]). The choir is currently looking for male voice to add to the mix.

What We Are Celebrating

Twelve New Members!!!

What a delight it was to baptize 8 individuals this summer. Now, we are celebrating the addition of twelve new members to our congregation! Here are their names: Bill and Polly, Garnet, Niall and Jaime, Coleen, Angie and Chad, Brian, Dana, Jen, and Beverly. Praise God! We will formally welcome each of them into membership next week during our Sunday morning worship service. Please pray for each of them and their families, and please greet them and welcome them into the family!

Stories from Every Home Prayed For

We are also celebrating stories of what God is doing already as we pray for each home in Berwick. This week, we had four visitors as a direct result of this initiative. We also want to celebrate the fact that 26 homes were prayed for! May God richly bless each of these homes, regardless if we ever know any of the details!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for each of the twelve individuals who have joined Berwick Baptist Church. Pray that they would find their place in this church and that they would use their God-given gifts for the building up of this church—to the glory of God!

Talk soon,

Evan

P.S. We really want you to remind you to get some door hangers and pray for your neighbours!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
