Berwick Baptist Weekly | Oct 26–Nov 1

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Important Notice: No Entry To Our Building this Friday and Saturday

As our renovation project continues to move forward, one of the important phases is the insulation of our building. This week, part of the building will be insulated using spray foam. Once this is done, we will not be able to be in the building for a couple of days. Therefore, no entry will be permitted to our building this Friday and Saturday (31 Oct. and 1 Nov.)

Every Home Prayed For – 1 Nov. 2025 @10am

Mark your calendars: this coming Saturday, we will be gathering together to pray for our community! It is our goal to pray for every home in Berwick. We want to do this individually, as families, and as a church! As we get ready for what God has for us as a church, think of this initiative as tilling the soil of our town for a mighty move of God. We will be meeting at Carol’s Place at 10am. (Carol’s place in the brown building on Cottage Street, right behind the Tennis Courts). We will break up into some groups and then make our way around town to pray for homes in Berwick. We will have maps of routes prepared for each group. As we will be going throughout the town, some of us will have to drive to various locations and then walk. Please note, we will have at least one vehicle (perhaps more if needed) to drive those with mobility issues. See you this Saturday at 10am!

Valley Prayer Night – 9 Nov. 2025 @6pm

We are excited to be hosting Pray Nova Scotia’s Valley Prayer Night. We are expecting Christians and church leaders from throughout the Valley and beyond to be present, and we would be delighted to have a strong presence from our church. Would you show your support for this important event by being in the room and joining your voice with brothers and sisters in Christ as we seek God together in prayer!?! God is at work, and we want for more! Please join us for time of prayer in our church on 9 Nov. @6pm!

What We Are Celebrating

Challenge

Praise God for the fact that we took several youth to Challenge at New Minas Baptist Church. Challenge is a youth event that happens each year. It include music, Gospel messages, and service in the community (racking leaves, for example). Pray that the messages these young people heard will have an impact on their lives. It was great to see four of them out to church on Sunday morning, and one of them at Alpha on Sunday evening. Praise God!

We are Celebrating Night #2 of Alpha!

We are also praising God for another great night of Alpha! We had over 30 people present. We shared a great meal together (a big thank you to those who made the meal!) and had a lot of good discussion. Our topic was “Who is Jesus,” and it was great to be reminded of the historical basic of our faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Please pray that God will use Alpha in a powerful way in the life of our church and our community! If you know of someone who is attending Alpha, perhaps you could commit to praying for them each day. Would you consider doing this? Also, if you are interested in joining, please let us know—it is not too late to register (see link below)!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for Pastor Caleb. Caleb will be away this week on a spiritual retreat. We encourage you to be in prayer for him during this time. Pray that it will be a time in which he draws closer to God, and that it will be a blessing to him! Pray as well for Leslie, Ellie, and Adaline, as they will spend the next few days without Caleb. Let’s care for and support them in whatever ways we can.

Talk soon,

Evan

P.S. This weekend, time changes. We will be falling back, which means we will be gaining an hour (yay!)! If you need to, don’t forget to set your clocks back. Smartphones are like magic—it just happens!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
