Berwick Baptist Weekly | Nov 30–Dec 6

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Christmas Letter

Get your Christmas letter!!! This Sunday, we will have the Christmas letters available for pick up—make a point to get yours. We have revamped the look of the letter, and we have two requests for you to consider. But, you will need to get your letter and read it to find out what the requests are. Hint: it has to do with the word invitation

Every Home Prayed For

As we continue to get ready, we do not want you to forget about our fall initiative to pray for every home in Berwick. We want to encourage you to continue praying for homes at your own convenience. If you are wondering what streets to pray for, please talk to Caleb and he will give you a prayer route or two that you can do. As always, if you pray for a home, don’t forget to register it at the first link below. And, for some encouragement, check out the live prayer map at the second link.

Christmas Eve

Can you believe it—Christmas Eve is only 21 days away!!! The Pastors were planning the Christmas Eve service just the other day. We want to encourage you to make sure you are there for this service. We also want to encourage you to invite a friend or neighbour to be there as well. Let’s pray for a full house in which everyone hears the good news of the Gospel and the true reason for the season!

What We Are Celebrating

Advent and Our Advent Sermon Series

It was a delight to be together this past Sunday for the first Sunday of Advent. The sanctuary is decorated, the Advent candles are out, and we are singing well-known and much-loved Christmas classics together! We are also celebrating the beginning of our Advent sermon series—Fear Gives Way. We encourage you to come each week of Advent to be reminded that God is not a God of fear and that because of Jesus, fear gives way!

Church Decorations – Inside and Out!

On the above note, we want to celebrate and say a big THANK YOU to all those who were involved in decorating the church building—both inside and out! Thank you! You are appreciated!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for our Advent sermon series. Pray that God would use this series for the good of his people and for his glory! As Caleb reminded us, “fear gives way to hope when Jesus enters the room!”

Talk soon,

Evan

P.S. Our last session of Alpha for this year will be this Sunday (7 Dec.) at 5pm. See you there!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
