Berwick Baptist Weekly | Nov 23–29

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Spray Foam – No Entry To the Building on 27–28 Nov.

In addition to our heating system, an important part of our renovation project is insulation. More spray foam will be applied this coming week. Therefore, we are once again asking that you not enter the building this coming Thursday and Friday (27–28 Nov.—no entry until 6pm on the Friday). Thank you for your understanding. (Please note: this is a rescheduled appointment as it was too wet to apply the spray foam last time the appointment was booked.)

WWS Auxiliary Bake Sale – 29 Nov. 9am–Noon

Come out to the church gymnasium this coming Saturday (29 Nov.) for the WWS Auxiliary Bake Sale. This will be taking place from 9am–noon. They will have tables of delicious baked goods, as well as a gently used item. Please come out and support their good work!

Opportunity to Serve – Post-Service Snack Table

An important part of our life together is our post-service snack time. This is a great way to greet and chat with one another directly after our Sunday morning worship service. It is also a lovely time to meet those visiting our church for the first time. As you might expect, it takes several hands to make this happen each week. Being on the rotation to help involve the following duties done together with two or three others: setting up the tables and coffee and tea, baking or bringing some baked goods, and clean-up. If this is an area that you might feel called to serve, please reach out to Erica Schofield ([email protected]) or Suzanne Spicer ([email protected]). They will be doing up a new rotation list soon, so this is the perfect time to join!

Help Needed! – Decorating the Sanctuary for Christmas – 25 Nov. @9:30am

Can you believe it—tomorrow will be one month until Christmas Day! How fitting, then, that tomorrow will be the day that we are going to gather at the church to decorate our worship space for the Christmas season. If you are able to help—even for just a little bit—please join us. We will start at 9:30am. Hope to see you there!

What We Are Celebrating

Christmas Parade – Float and Hot Chocolate

We are celebrating our presence in our community at the Berwick Christmas Parade this past Saturday! We gave out around 250 cups of delicious hot chocolate and 500 invitations to our Christmas Eve service—plus nearly 1000 candy canes! Praise God! We want to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved—particularly to those who literally “ran” in the parade! Thank you as well to Ron and Ruth for all their hard work in putting the float together! Pray that God will use all of this to draw people to himself—and that people will come to the Christmas Eve Service.

We Have Heat in the Whole Building!

We are also celebrating a big moment that happened today: all the heat is now on! This means that we have heat throughout the whole building—even in places that were particularly difficult to heat with the previous system. We are trilled that all of our heat pumps are up and running. The project is still not yet complete, however, as we still have insulation to complete, but this is a big moment! A big thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to get us here! Praise God!

Me and the Final Heat Pump to Go Live!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for all the people at the parade who received an invite to our Christmas Eve service. Pray that God, by his Spirit, would draw them to this service and that the service would be used for his glory and their eternal good!

Talk soon,

Evan
