Berwick Baptist Weekly | May 4-10

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Church Business Meeting- May 11th

This coming Sunday, directly following the worship gathering, we will have a church business meeting to vote on the proposed heating renovation project as brought forward by the Renovation Committee and Finance Committee. A motion will be shared soon.

Below are two documents handed out during the meeting: one with updated numbers regarding the application with EFFNS and the other regarding finances.

If you have any lingering questions after the family meetings, please reach out to discuss before the meeting!

Food Pantry

Our next slot to stock the food pantry is coming up May 18-31. This is a joint initiative between the four churches in Berwick that aims to provide access to food through a ‘food pantry’ located in front of the Town Hall and a new second location near Berwick School.

This is an amazing opportunity to join Jesus in mission as we meet a practical need in the community.

We need food items or cash donations in order to stock the pantry. Consider partnering in the gospel in this way!

Membership Course

On May 18th, we will be hosting a Membership Course. This is a time to learn and explore what membership is, why we practice it, and lots about our church. We are excited that this is a new season in our church, and pursuing membership is the best way to shape the church together.

The course will run from 3:30-5:00, and then we will eat supper together. Childcare will be provided. We would love to see you there!

If you plan to come, reply to this email and let us know. (This is helpful for us to know how much food to provide!)

What We Are Celebrating

Family Meeting

Yesterday, we gathered for a second family meeting to discuss the heating renovation project that the renovation committee has brought for consideration.

We want to celebrate and thank the committee for the countless hours and hard work that has gone into this proposal! They have shown much dedication, diligence and care in leading us to this point. Thank you!

We are also celebrating the solid discussion that we had yesterday around the project. We left with a sense of unity and peace about a general consensus of how the Lord is leading us forward with this project. It is incredible how God brings unity as we work through things together in a good discussion.

Plant and Bake Sale

On Saturday, the WMS Auxiliary held their annual Plant and Bake sale to great success! We have heard reports that they nearly sold out all items, that the plants went quickly and that we made some connections with folks in the community! Thank you to those who came out and to the members of the auxiliary who gave their time to support the work of the mission!

One Prayer This Week

Pray this week for Keera Best and the rest of the team with her as they are officially off today on their mission trip to Guatemala!

Talk soon,

Caleb
