Berwick Baptist Weekly | March 29–April 4
Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up
Holy Week@Berwick Baptist
We have now entered the most important week in the Church Year: Holy Week! This is the week that we re-trace the steps of Jesus toward the cross and the empty tomb. At Berwick Baptist, there are several ways that you can engage in worship during this most holy week. For details about these services, check out the link below. We encourage you to join us as we celebrate the fact that Jesus died for our sins and was raised to life for our justification (Romans 4:25)!
Maundy Thursday Service (Soup Supper and Communion) – 5:30pm
Good Friday Service (Tenebrae Service) – 6pm
Easter Sunday Sunrise Service (Centennial Park Gazebo) – 6:30am *Please Note, we will be sending out an email on Saturday evening if the weather necessitates that we move inside. If so, we will gather at the church in the prayer room (the Parlour)*
Easter Sunday Service (Hot Cross Buns to Follow) – 10:45am
Easter Offering – New Church Bibles
We are excited to be moving ahead with the plan to purchase new Church Bible. Caleb shared a bit more behind this initiative on Sunday. We are certainly long overdue for new Bibles. We also have the desire to purchase extra Bibles so that we can make sure that people have a Bible of their own! We believe that God’s word is living and active, and so we want to get it into the hands of as many people as possible. During this Easter, we are asking you to help us to make this possible. The 2026 Easter offering will go toward purchasing these new Bibles. Would you consider giving generously so that we can make this plan a reality?
The Prayer Room – Tuesdays (6:30am) and Wednesdays (7:30pm)
We were very encouraged by the Prayer Room during our 21 Days of Prayer. As we mentioned a few times, it was our plan all along to set up some regular times to gather and pray together. Well, here they are: starting next week, we will have a regular morning Prayer Room every Tuesday at 6:30am and a regular evening Prayer Room every Wednesday at 7:30pm.
For those who joined us, we will follow the same format as we did during 21 Days of Prayer (P.R.A.Y.). As Charles Spurgeon put it, prayer is the “boiler room” or the “engine room” of the church. We agree—in fact, we would go so far as to say that a healthy church is a praying church! And the Prayer Room is one way that we can seek the face of God together. We hope to see you in the Prayer Room!
Bible Study – 12 April @9am
In the book of Acts, we get a glimpse of what the life of the early church looked like. We see in Acts 2:42 that they were devoted to the Bible, Prayer, and Community. That is what we want our life together to look like as well. In addition to the regular prayer times, we are going to start a regular Bible Study as well. Starting on 12 April @9am, we are going to start a six-week study on How to Study the Bible (we will gather in the Parlour). After these six-weeks, we will then put what we have learned into practice by walking through a book of the Bible together. If you are looking to Study the Bible with others, this is the place for you!

What We Are Celebrating
21 Days of Prayer and Heart of Prayer Sermon Series
This week, we are celebrating the conclusion of our 21 Days of Prayer and our sermon series on prayer—Heart of Prayer! We hope and pray that this time helped you form new habits, habits that will last well beyond 21 days. May this house be a house of prayer (Isaiah 56:7)!
Child Dedications
The chaos was real, but the joy was palpable! What a blessing it was to dedicate four families and seven children to the Lord this past Sunday. I (Evan) have been connected to this church for 13 years (!). If I am correct, during those 13 years, there were two children dedicated to the Lord. What a joy it was, then, to see seven children dedicated this past Sunday! God is at work! Thank you, Lord! “Children are a gift from God” (Psalm 127:3)!
Note: Seven children were dedicated, but 11 ended up in this picture!

One Prayer This Week
Holy week is one of the those times during the year that we get visitors who do not usually attend worship services. Pray that our Holy Week services move the hearts of all who will attend. Pray that God will draw people to faith in him!
Talk soon,
Evan
