Berwick Baptist Weekly | June 15-21

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Induction Service

This Sunday (June 22nd) at 4 pm, we will gather for the Induction Service of Evan and I. We have been looking forward to this gathering, which will be a special time where we commit to one another as a church family to partner together in ministry. We would invite you to join us and invite anyone invested in the ministry of this church to attend.

Block Party- Opportunity to Serve

Our annual community Block Party is just 11 days away! It is happening on Friday, June 27th, from 4:00-7:00 pm. An event like this requires all hands on deck to pull off, so we would encourage you to find a way to participate. We are seeking donations of food as well as volunteers to serve on the day of the event. Sign-up sheets will be around again this Sunday. If you can serve at the event, please reply to this email to let me know.

Note: We had previously said 4-6 in the newsletter but the correct time is 4-7 pm

Summer Ministry with Keera

Keera (our summer student!) announced a few kids ministry events that she is planning this summer on Sunday, including a week-long Glow program and day camps.

Keera is searching for some people who are available to serve at these events with her. The Glow event will be taking place June 23-26 in the afternoons. Day camps will take place Saturday mornings on July 5,12,19, and August 2,9,16.

For more info on these events contact Keera by email: [email protected]

What We Are Celebrating

Stories of Transformation

Recently, we have had the privilege of being made aware of several stories of life change that are happening in our church community as people are encountering God and He is working for good in their lives. We do not always get to see the fruit of the ministry we are a part of together but it can be really encouraging when we do. Be encouraged that there are truly lives being changed as people encounter God through the ministry of Berwick Baptist Church.

Loving Our Neighbours

This Sunday, I had a lovely conversation with someone who was at our church for the first time. They shared how they were deeply impacted by the kindness shown to them by a member of our church who is their new neighbour. They just moved to the area and have been greatly helped by this neighbour.

Two things to celebrate here: 1) This is such a fantastic example of faith lived out in day-to-day life, as we love our neighbours. 2) The kindness shown led to these people coming to church.

Let this be an encouragement that loving your neighbour is powerful!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for the pastoral team as we three make the transition to full-time ministry. Pray for unity in heart and vision, clarity in our roles and direction, and strength as we seek to serve the church with wisdom, humility, and love.

Talk soon,

Caleb

P.S. We would love for you to have the joy of serving at the Block Party. If you are able to serve, reply to this email to let me know.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
