Berwick Baptist Weekly | July 13-19

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Baptism Sunday: July 27

We are so pumped for Baptism Sunday coming up in just under two weeks on Sunday, July 27th. We are set to celebrate as we baptize around eight people. These folks have been working through a preparation process with Evan and we are looking forward to hearing these exciting stories of Jesus working in their lives as we baptize them.

The baptisms will be taking place at Loon Lake at the Charltons (thank you for offering the space!). Their property is located on Owl Lake Drive, just past Lake George and Kingswood Camp. We will have fellowship time following the service, and then gather at the lake at 2 pm for the baptism service. This should give you enough time to get home, have a quick lunch (or grab some snacks at the fellowship time), and head out to the lake!

There is limited parking in the cottage driveway for those with mobility issues, and parking along the road for others.

Summer Art Camp

August Arts camp is coming up quickly, beginning August 2nd. The camp will run for three Saturdays from 9:00-11:30 am.

During the camp, there will be a craft, bible lessons, songs and preparation of a play to be performed on the last day of the camp.

Heating Renovation Update

We are pleased to announce that the loan to secure the necessary funds for the heating renovation project has been secured. In the coming days and weeks work will begin on this critical and exciting renovation!

Thank you to the Finance Committee for all their hard work throughout this application process.

Celebration for Wayne & Lyn Sanford’s 50th

Wayne and Lyn Sanford are pleased to invite you to join them as they celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary! Congratulations to Wayne and Lyn!

They are hosting a ‘Drop In’ gathering to celebrate, Sunday, August 10th, from 2:00-4:00 at the Berwick Lions Hall. Please come in casual attire and with best wishes only! All are welcome!

What We Are Celebrating

Summer Seek Prayer Night: Draw Near

Last evening, we gathered for the first Summer Seek Prayer Night, and we want to celebrate the excellent time spent in prayer together. These are three nights where we are intentionally setting aside time to pray this summer, with the desire to pursue God more deeply.

The theme of last evening was taken from James 4:8- Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

We had 26 people show up to pray and shared wonderful moments of individual, small-group, and large-group prayer.

Mark your calendars for August 10th, the next night in the series where the theme will be Bless Berwick.

What a Sunday!

We are also celebrating a fantastic Sunday, where we once again welcomed many visitors into our worship gathering, making it all the more special. This past Sunday, we had 13 young men join us who are here with Cadet camp. Additionally, we were joined by the teens from the Atlantic Christian Ashram, which is currently taking place.

We heard from the leaders of both groups about how encouraging the service was to their teens. Particularly, two teens asked for Bibles following the service.

Thank you for being welcoming and hospitable to these kids! We loved seeing so many of you interact with them and welcome them to Berwick Baptist.

One Prayer This Week

Pray for the teenagers who joined us for worship this week. Particularly pray that they would give their lives to Jesus.

(Many of these teens are not currently Christians!)

Talk soon,

Caleb

P.S. Make sure to plan to join us for a special celebration of Baptisms on July 27th!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
