Berwick Baptist Weekly | January 18–24

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Annual Business Meeting – 24 Jan. @ 1pm – Potluck @12noon

The week of our Annual Business Meeting is now upon us. We will be gathering in the church gymnasium this Saturday for a potluck at 12noon. Our Business meeting will follow at 1pm. Once again, we really want to encourage each of to make an effort to attend. In line with our recent constitutional changes, we will be voting in Elders, as well as Deacons. We will vote on our budget. We will hear updates about the year that has passed and the year that is ahead. Also, childcare will be provided. We are looking forward to seeing each of you there. At the links below, please find electronic copies of our Annual Report Booklet, as well as the minutes from our 2025 business meetings.

Berwick Food Bank Fundraiser – 25 Jan. @ 2pm – Berwick Legion

We have long been a church that supports our local food bank. This month, there is an opportunity to continue to support this important ministry in and to our community. On 25 January, from 2–4pm, the Berwick Legion will be hosting a benefit concert for the Berwick Food Bank. This is being led by our own MLA, Chris Palmer, and Company. Cost: Free Will Offering. Come on out and enjoy some good entertainment and support and excellent local cause!

Child Dedication

A couple Sundays ago, we announced that we are looking to plan a child dedication service sometime in the near future. We have some folks in our congregation who are interested in having their child dedicated before the Lord. Child dedication is simply a time set apart in a service for parents to publicly dedicated their child to the Lord and commit to raise them in the faith, as well as a time for the congregation to commit support them in this endeavour. If you are interested in having your child(ren) dedicated, please reach out to one of the pastors.

What We Are Celebrating

Table Fellowship

Today, we are celebrating our after-service fellowship time. We have noticed that this time is going really well and that folks are staying longer to mingle with one another. We believe the tables have also helped to facilitate a more meaningful time together. Last week at our pre-service prayer time, we prayed that this time in the life of our church would go beyond surface level conversations to more personal and spiritual matters. May it be so!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for our upcoming Annual Business Meeting on 24 January. Pray that we will be able to discern the mind of Christ together.

Talk soon,

Evan
