Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up
21-Days of Prayer
During the sermon on Sunday, Caleb mentioned our intention to launch a more extended time of prayer during Lent, much like we did last year. Lent is the time in the church calendar in which Christians have traditionally prepared themselves for Easter. It is a time of prayer and fasting. Therefore, with the church around the world and throughout history, we will devote 21 of those days to prayer. Keep an eye out for a prayer guide and times to gather together to pray. Until then, we encourage you to come out and join us for our pre-service prayer time each Sunday morning at 10am in the church parlour. As we learned on Sunday, let’s devote ourselves to Scripture, Community, and to Prayer!
Zoom Link – New Location
A couple of weeks ago, we modified our newsletter to include the weekly Zoom link for our Sunday morning worship services. This way, we do not have to send out a separate email with just the Zoom link. So, if you are looking for the Zoom link to join the Sunday service, you just have to click the link in the newsletter—it will be there every week at the bottom of the letter, right under the scripture reference. For your convenience, I have included a screenshot with the link circled. We hope this helps!

Pray for Andrew and Caleb as they Travel
Andrew and Caleb will both be away over the next couple of weeks—Andrew this week Caleb the next. Andrew is heading out West with Niall and their fathers and will be driving back to NS with a new truck. Caleb will be heading to New York City for a Prayer Conference called Altars. Pray for their safety as they travel during these winter months. Pray that Andrew and Niall will have a meaningful and memorable time with their fathers. Pray that Caleb will have a meaningful time at the Altars conference and that he will be able to bring back to us what he has experience and learned about prayer (check out the link below for more about this conference).

What We Are Celebrating
Annual Business Meeting
This week, we are celebrating our Annual Business meeting. Thank you to each of you who made an effort to come out to this important meeting. If my math and my memory are correct, we had enough chairs set up for around 75 people. While not all of these chairs were filled, the vast majority were. What a great turn out! I believe the meeting struck the right tone and balance—we conducted business as Christians saved by grace through faith in Christ. I want to particularly highlight the fact that at this business meeting, we elected our first round of officers in line with our new constitution. Please add the Elders and Deacons to you regular habit of prayer.
New Members
This second item to celebrate deserves its own space. Also at our business meeting, we were delighted to welcome in 3 new members: Janie, Kenny, and Esther. Membership can be thought of as Covenant Partnership. It does not make you a Christian, but it is how you are affirmed as a Christian. It is an individual saying, “I belong to them”; it is a group saying, “you belong to us.” May we all, as one family, be a help, aid, and blessing to each other as we journey through this Christian life together!

One Prayer This Week
Pray for the three new members—Janie, Kenny, and Esther—that God would bless them and that they would find in this congregation a family that loves and cares for them!
