Berwick Baptist Weekly | February 1–7

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Alpha

We are now on session 11 of Alpha. Our topic for this week will be “How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?” After this session, we will have just 4 more sessions to go. Thank you to all who have volunteered to make this possible. And thank you to all who have faithfully attended. Please pray that God would use Alpha in the lives of each person who attends, and in the life of our church.

21 Days of Prayer

On Sunday, once again our sermon passage included the topic of prayer! It is clear that the early church was devoted to prayer. We read how Peter and John were on their way to the 3 o’clock prayer meeting. As I announced last week, we will be entering into an extended time of prayer during Lent 2026. Keep an eye out for a prayer guide and service times as we go to God in prayer. May it be said of us that we are devoted to prayer.

Continuing Our Series on Acts

We are continuing our way through the first 4 chapters of Acts in our sermon series After Jesus. Last week, we looked at Acts 3:1–26. This coming Sunday, Andrew will be preaching on Acts 4:1–22. The following Sunday, Caleb will conclude the series with a message on Acts 4:23–31. Perhaps you could include these passages in your own Bible reading time so that you can soak as much as possible out of this sermon series.

What We Are Celebrating

Praying for Our New Elders!!!

It was a delight to take time during our service this past Sunday to introduce and pray for our new Elders. As I said on Sunday, we ask you to regularly pray for Matt, Rosemary, and Bill, as well as Caleb, Andrew, and me, as we lead Berwick Baptist Church together.

Final Day for the Insulators

Each week, we get closer and closer to the conclusion of our renovation project. Matt informed me that today (Tuesday, 3 Feb) is the final day for the insulators. I should also point out that this past Sunday was the first Sunday that we have been in the sanctuary since it was insulated! The insulation is the last part of the major renovation items. All that is left after this is touch-up work, such as crack-filling and painting, and a few other items. Please continue to pray for the completion of our project!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for Caleb as he attends Altars (a prayer conference) in New York City. He has arrived safety in the Big Apple. Pray that God will move in powerful ways at this conference. Pray as well for his return journey.
