Berwick Baptist Weekly | Feb 22–28

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Tax Receipts

Tax receipts for 2025 will be available this week. We have moved to a new system that will make tracking and producing our tax receipts much easier. One result of this was some automatic emails that went out this past week as we made the change. If you received an email with the following subject line, “Your Donor Accounts Have Been Joined,” here is why: This was an automatically generated email that went out as we set up couples who give jointly and should receive one tax receipt. If you received this email, you can ignore it. We apologize for any confusion this caused. With this new system, you will receive an email that allows you to download your tax receipt. You can also pick them up at the church. Thank you for your patience on this matter.

Church Clean-Up – 7 March @9am to 12noon

Did I say there would be pizza?!? With all of the good work that has taken place in our church building, many cobwebs and much dust has been revealed, so we are planning a church clean-up day. This will be for the internal part of the building, not the outside. We will be meeting on 7 March @9am. We will go until noon, at which time we will break for pizza. If you are only able to come for a portion of this time, that is no problem. Many hands make light work—we hope to see you there. There is a sgn-up sheet in the foyer. You can also sign-up at the link below.

21 Days of Prayer

Mark your calendars: 21 Days of Prayer starts on 8 March 2026. We will kick this off with an in-person prayer gathering on 8 March @6pm in the Sanctuary. Keep an eye out for our prayer guide, which will serve as your daily prayer guide for these 21 days.

One of the features on this 21 Days of Prayer is the Prayer Room—two words you will be hearing a lot during the next few weeks. Check out this brief video for what to expect in the Prayer Room.

We will be gathering at regular times through these weeks to pray. Here is a list of the days and times that we will be gathering. While you are more than welcome to show up to all of these, the idea is that the different time throughout the week will allow different people to show up at the times that work best for them in light of their work and life schedules.

Kick-Off Prayer Night – 6–7:30pm (March 8)

Tuesdays – 7–8am (March 10, 17, and 24)

Wednesdays – 7:30–8:30pm (March 11, 18, and 25)

Thursdays – 12noon (ZOOM) (March 12, 19, and 26)

Fridays – 10:30–11:30am (March 13, 20, and 27)

Closing Prayer Night – 6–7:30pm (March 27)

What We Are Celebrating

Our New Lenten Sermon Series – Heart of Prayer

This past Sunday, we launched our Lenten sermon series called Heart of Prayer. We started by looking at the Heart of Presence. This coming week, we will look at the Heart of Repentance. If you want to prepare for this Sunday’s message, take a few moments this week to read and reflect on Psalm 51, Luke 18:9–14, and 1 John 1:9. May this series, in conjunction with 21 Days of Prayer, help to form within each of us a heart of prayer!

Sunday Morning Prayer Room!

Prayer Room—didn’t I say you would start hearing these two words a lot! We already have one standing Prayer Room time, our pre-service Prayer Room that happens each Sunday morning at 10am. We encourage you to come out and join us for a time of interceding for our Sunday morning worship service. We have been having some sweet times of prayer that we want to celebrate! We hope to see you there!

One Prayer This Week

Please pray for our 21 Days of Prayer. Prayer that this will be a formative time in the life of our church. Pray that this intentional time of prayer, both individually and corporately, will shape in each of us the desire for God’s presence.

Talk soon,

Evan

P.S. We really want you to take part in 21 Days of Prayer. Please make an effort to come out to an in-person Prayer Room!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
