Berwick Baptist Weekly | Feb 2-8

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

21 Days of Prayer – Night of Prayer – 28 March@6pm

It is hard to believe, but we are already a few days into our final week of 21 Days of Prayer! We hope that this time has proven to be meaningful to each of you. Furthermore, we hope that it has helped you to establish a habit that will last well beyond these 21 Days. We still want to encourage you to come join us for one of our remaining Prayer Rooms (this evening at 7:30pm, tomorrow at 12noon via Zoom, and Friday morning at 10:30am).

We want to invite you to our closing Night of Prayer this Saturday (28 March) at 6pm (childcare will be provided). We were very pleased with the turn out for our opening Night of Prayer—and we would love to see you out to our closing as we celebrate these last 21 Days! See you there!

Holy Week @ Berwick Baptist

We love the church calendar! The church calendar is a helpful tool that the global church uses—and has used for a long time!—to shape the church around the life of Christ. We are about to enter into the most significant week in human history—Holy Week. During this week, we remember the last week of Christ’s life by reflecting on the Last Supper, and our Lord’s death and resurrection. Here are the ways that you can take part in Holy Week at Berwick Baptist:

Maundy Thursday Service (Supper and Communion) – 2 April @5:30pm

Good Friday Service – 3 April @6:00pm

Easter Sunday Sunrise Service – Centennial Park Gazebo – 5 April @6:30am

Easter Sunday Service (Hot Cross Buns and Coffee/Tea to follow) – 5 April @10:45am

Easter Offering 2026 – New Church Bibles

We are excited to announce a unique and exciting goal for our 2026 Easter offering: new Church Bibles. The Bibles that we currently have at Berwick Baptist have been well-used over many years, and they are in a translation that we no longer read or preach from. Therefore, we believe it is now time to purchase new Bible for our church. We are asking each of you to help make this happen. The plan is to use the Easter offering to purchase these new Bibles. We will take the cost of these new Bibles from the 2026 Easter offering. Any financial contributions beyond the required about will simply go to the general fund, as is the case each year with the Easter offering. Would you consider giving generously this year to help make this possible? The Bible is the most important book of all time—please consider being part of helping Berwick Baptist purchase quality Bibles that will serve us well for many years of ministry together!

XY Men’s Conference – 17–18 April

"The XY Men’s Conference is for men of all ages who want to grow in their faith and step fully into the life God has called them to lead." The XY Men’s Conference is being held in Moncton, NB, on 17–18 April. We are excited that we currently have 11 men signed-up for this conference! If you are thinking about registering, we really want to encourage you to give it a try and sign up. We believe that you won’t regret it!

Last week, I included two links in this newsletter—one for the conference website, and another for our own in-house registration link. This was confusing, as you could register at both links. If you registered for the conference through the conference website, please reach out to us and let us know. This week, I am only including our in-house registration link, as this is how we would like you to register so that we can track who is going and how many hotel rooms we need to book. Sorry for the confusion.

What We Are Celebrating

Efficiency Nova Scotia Rebate

As I mentioned on Sunday morning, this week we are celebrating and giving God praise for our Efficiency Nova Scotia rebate. Last week, we received $219,000 from Efficiency NS—Praise God! These funds allowed us to do our heating renovation project, a project that we have all been feeling the effects of each week as we enter into a heated space for worship. What a blessing!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for the final week of 21 Days of Prayer, and pray for our closing Prayer Night. Pray that God will use this time of pray to form hearts of prayer in each of us that will go well beyond 21 days!

Talk soon,

Evan

Berwick Baptist Church

P.S. We really want you to come to the Prayer Night on Saturday (28th March) at 6pm. See you there!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
