Berwick Baptist Weekly | Dec. 21–27

Here are some of the things happening in our community this week.

What’s Coming Up

Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve is fast approaching! I hope you are looking forward to our Christmas Eve service. You will recall that we encouraged each of you to prayerfully consider inviting someone out to this service. You now have couple days left to extend this invitation. My prayer is that each of us would be strengthened to extend an invitation to at least one person. Remember, it is our role to extend the invite; it is God’s role to bring people to a response. We want to celebrate the invite! Christmas Eve service is always a well-attended service that includes many folks who do not frequent church services throughout the year. Let’s praise God for the opportunity to share the wonderful good news of Christmas—of Christianity!!!—with our guests. Pray that God would use this service in a mighty way!

Every Home Prayed For

Caleb recently updated our live prayer map—and what an encouragement to see all the yellow dotes on the many homes that have been prayed for! We are getting close to completing our goal of praying for every home in Berwick. Please reach out to us if you would like a route that you could complete as we press ahead to the finish line. Be sure to register the houses you have prayed for at the first button below. And be sure to check out the live prayer map, which you can see by clicking the second button. Be encouraged—and remember, prayer changes things!

Berwick Food Pantry – 4–17 January 2026 and 17 January 2026

Our turn for stocking the Berwick Food Pantry (Two Locations: Town Hall and Berwick School) is coming right up. Our next two-week period is 4–17 January 2026. You can bring donations of non-perishable food items to the church, and you can also make a financial donation to allow us to purchase food. We also want to share that there is a fundraising event for the Food Pantry on 17 January 2026 @7pm. This will take place at the Apple Dome during a Valley Wildcats Hockey Game. You can make a monetary donation at this event, as well as contribute through the cookie sale and taking part in chuck-a-puck. If you would like to bake cookies for this important cause, please contact Jen Best at [email protected]

What We Are Celebrating

Memorial Angels

Thank you to those who took part in the memorial tree angels. It was a meaningful and moving part of our worship service. My hope and prayer for each of you is that this was a important time for you as you honoured your loved ones in this way.

Christmas Baskets for Shut-Ins

The Pastors and Deacons delivered 11 packs of cookies with a Our Daily Bread and a Christmas card to our shut-ins. We pray that each of them, and their families, have a joyous and blessed Christmas! A big thank you to all who were involved in making this happen!

One Prayer This Week

Pray for our Christmas Eve service. As I have said here before, Christmas Eve service is one of those yearly services that brings people out who might not regularly attend church service. Let us each go out of our way to be welcoming. And let’s each pray that God would use this service for his glory and for the good of many!

Talk soon,

Evan

P.S. We (the Pastoral Team) want to say a big THANK YOU for your generosity for the card and Christmas gift. We all greatly appreciate it! Merry Christmas to each of you!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
